Job summary

Journey's End Refugee Services-PEO is seeking a Resources Coordinator to support pre-arrival housing and household setup for new arrival refugees. The role works with the PIR team and Community Engagement Manager to ensure timely communication and smooth housing processes, coordinating volunteers and interns as needed.

The position requires driving, organizing household items, coordinating with landlords, and maintaining case notes.

Qualifications

  • Requires regular access to a safe, licensed vehicle and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds.
  • Friendly demeanor and calm disposition.
  • Ability to communicate with landlords, providers, and JERS staff in timely, professional, assertive manner.
  • Ability to drive a van or rental van for moving items.
  • Organization and time‑management skills, including attention to detail and task follow‑through.
  • Excellent verbal & written documentation skills for communicating with volunteers, and for maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date case notes and financial records.
  • Strong computer skills, including databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self‑direction and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Some night and weekend hours required.

Responsibilities

  • Locate appropriate housing for newly arriving refugees by establish and expanding relationships with reputable landlords.
  • Work with case managers and landlords to arrange rent payments.
  • Assist with securing temporary housing when permanent housing is not available to new arrivals.
  • Source all required household items for apartment set up through donation or purchase.
  • Coordinate apartment setups with Community Outreach Manager to ensure volunteers are available to clean and furnish the home.
  • Arrange professional apartment cleanings if necessary.
  • Be on site during apartment set ups to ensure set up is done correctly and be available to handle concerns or questions that arise.
  • Comply with program requirements including case notes, PIR housing forms, check requests, inspections, and landlord statements.
  • Communicate with utility providers to activate utilities and ensure working appliances.
  • Works with case managers and outreach department to coordinate tasks for on‑site interns and volunteers, providing guidance and support when needed.

Position Title: Resources Coordinator

Supervisor: Director of Community Integration Services

Status: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt professional, entry level

Job Description:

The Resources Coordinator is responsible for pre-arrival duties, meeting housing and household set-up needs for new arrival refugees in addition to general support for the department, as determined by the Director of Community Integration Services. This position works closely with the Program of Initial Resettlement (PIR) team and Community Engagement Manager to ensure timely, fluid communication with those involved in the housing process. The Resources Coordinator also coordinates tasks for volunteers and interns working with staff members in the Community Integration Services department.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Locate appropriate housing for newly arriving refugees by establish and expanding relationships with reputable landlords
