Job description

Founded in 1982 as Joliet Area Community Hospice, Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care is an independent nonprofit healthcare provider licensed in 11 counties in northwest Illinois. We are currently seeking a Registry Resource RN. We have a state-of-the-art facility and the first free standing in-patient Hospice Home in Illinois. We have over a 35-year history of providing compassionate professional care to terminally ill patients and their families. We are state licensed and Medicare/Medicaid certified.

This position works a flexible schedule with a minimum of four 8-hour shifts per month, with 2 of those shifts falling on a Saturday or Sunday. The successful candidate can work additional hours, over and above the minimum of four 8-hour shifts per month. The Resource RN is a float position; assignment may be Triage RN desk, field, or Inpatient Unit. The Resource RN is responsible for providing skilled nursing intervention and supportive care in patients' homes, nursing homes, or long-term care facilities. This RN administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician and plan of care, assists with referrals & admissions when needed, and helps the patient with the activities of daily living while facilitating the patient's efforts toward self-sufficiency and optimal comfort.

Requirements:

1. RN with a minimum of one (1) year nursing experience in the area of public health, home care, or hospice nursing preferred.
2. Must be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
3. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.

This is a non-benefit position.
