Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering a summer internship for students in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Operations Research. The program is designed to build data analysis skills and model understanding through hands-on tasks in a hybrid in-person setting.

Interns should be able to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year, with a May 31, 2027 start date and extension potential based on performance and business needs. Starting pay ranges from $19.00 to $20.90 per hour.

This position is for a May 31, 2027 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current student, Junior or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.

• Strong interest in electric power industry.
