Job summary

Cleco is seeking a senior Resource Planning Analyst III to execute modeling, data analysis, and reporting that support planning decisions. This role focuses on maintaining Dynamic IRP capabilities, supporting Plexos and other analytic tools, and translating model outputs into actionable insights for IRP development and regulatory needs.

The position involves developing dashboards, validating data inputs, and delivering decision-ready analyses to guide internal portfolio evaluation and planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and validate data inputs to support resource planning models and ensure alignment with strategies.
• Execute and support modeling runs, analytical evaluation, and reporting for planning scenarios.
• Develop dashboards and reports to communicate planning scenarios, assumptions, and results to stakeholders.
• Translate model outputs into clear, actionable insights for the Resource Planning team and cross‑functional partners.
• Support ad hoc analysis and scenario updates in response to evolving planning needs.
• Maintain and enhance Dynamic IRP analytical capabilities and reporting tools.
• Build proficiency in Plexos and other analytical platforms to support internal and external reporting.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and traceability of assumptions and outputs.
• Continuously improve analytical methods and tools to strengthen team effectiveness.

The Resource Planning Analyst III is a senior level professional who is responsible for executing modeling, data analysis, and reporting to support planning decisions. This role maintains and enhances Dynamic IRP capabilities, supports Plexos and other analytical tools, and translates model outputs into actionable insights. The Analyst ensures data accuracy, develops reporting solutions, and provides consistent, decision‑ready analysis to support IRP development, regulatory needs, and internal portfolio evaluation.

• Maintain and enhance Dynamic IRP analytical capabilities and reporting tools.
• Build proficiency in Plexos and other analytical platforms to support internal and external reporting.
• Ensure consistency, accuracy, and traceability of data, assumptions, and analytical outputs.
• Continuously improve analytical methods, tools, and individual capabilities to strengthen team effectiveness.

Qualifications Required Education, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering or related field and/or 7+ years of related experience.
• Ability to negotiate and influence with a consultative approach.
• Strong knowledge of leading practices for their practice area.
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex results to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner.
• Progression to this level is strictly restricted based on critical individual capabilities and business requirements; must be supported by market survey data.
