Job summary

UMOS, Inc. is seeking a Resource Navigator in Milwaukee, WI to provide efficient intake services for CSBG and FPL programs. You will enter applications, answer inquiries, and coordinate administrative tasks to support eligible clients.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish skills, a valid Wisconsin driver's license, and ability to travel as needed. A Associate degree or equivalent experience is required, with strong MS Office proficiency and independent work capability.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or at least two years of experience with CSBG or other community service programs.
  • Two years' experience in case management or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and other software systems.
  • Ability to work independently within established policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • Must have reliable vehicle, valid Wisconsin driver's license, and auto liability insurance.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours including on-call evenings and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intake services for CSBG by phone, in person, or by mail to determine eligibility.
  • Enter program applications into CSBG data system timely.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide program information.
  • Respond promptly to avoid disconnections per crisis policy.
  • Coordinate administrative activities and support staff with information dissemination.
  • Use office equipment and various software; relay calls and messages professionally.
  • Verify earned and unearned income (wages, TANF, SSI, etc.).
  • Conduct community outreach and mobile intake with agencies and centers.
  • Perform home visits as necessary; respond to applicant questions and assist with benefits processing.

Resource Navigator Job Compensation
  • $18.22 to $22.78/HR (depending on experience).
Resource Navigator Job Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient, interactive intake services for the CSBG by phone, face-to face or by mail to determine program eligibility using 125% FPL standards.
  • Enter program applications into the CSBG electronic data system timely and
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide program information to
  • Provide quick, pro-active response to prevent disconnections, adhering to respond within 48hrs from time of request per written crisis policy.
  • Will coordinate and perform administrative activities and support by storing, retrieving, and integrating information for dissemination to staff and clients, answers and relays calls and messages, with follow-up to recipient in a professional manner.
  • Is required to use a variety of office equipment, such as fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, iPads, computers and video conferencing can use several types of telephone systems along with email programs.
  • Verify earned and unearned income, including wages, child support, TANF, Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, etc.
  • Conduct community outreach and provide mobile intake services to community agencies, senior centers, housing/neighborhood centers, etc.
  • Conduct home visits as necessary for the elderly, handicapped and

  • Follow up with clients, partners, and maintain accurate, confidential client files for FPL cases.

Resource Navigator Job Qualifications
  • Associate degree and/or at least two years of experience with the CSBG or other community service programs.
