Job summary

Youth Opportunity is seeking a Youth Care Specialist for the Silver Springs Youth Academy in Ocala, FL. The role provides direct supervision and support to seven to ten youth, maintaining a safe, structured environment during waking and non-waking hours to promote behavioral health goals.

Youth Care Specialists apply positive discipline, facilitate communication with the treatment team, and assist with educational activities within living units, helping youth develop personal responsibility for

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher education not required beyond high school; additional coursework preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with youth in a respectful, professional manner.
• Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of seven to 10 youth and monitor locations and activities.
• Follow procedures for youth movement, safety, contraband, counts, and reporting.
• Provide safe, supportive environment using positive discipline and de-escalation techniques.
• Record shift activities and incidents accurately; communicate with treatment team.
