Job summary

Arc GLOW seeks Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in home settings. You will provide daily care, help with personal needs, plan activities, document progress, and accompany outings in the community.

Part-time and full-time roles available with shift options including evenings, overnights, and weekends. Starting pay is $19.25 per hour, with additional weekend, overnight, and evening differentials.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Physical ability to transfer and lift people with mobility restraints.
• Team-oriented and goal-driven.
• Ability to use a computer.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily care to people with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
• Assists and encourages individuals with personal care needs.
• Plans daily activities and participates in small-group activities.
• Documents program data accurately and timely.
• Provides transportation as needed with agency vehicles.
• Uses various software platforms for job functions.
• Full-time DSPs in residential program must obtain and maintain medication certification.
• Assists with meal preparation.

Job description

Our Direct Support Professionals provide daily support to individuals with developmental disabilities within the home setting. Working with a team, DSPs assist with daily living skills, personalized goals, arts and crafts, games, sensory activities, and accompany on outings in the community. Starting pay is $19.25 an hour for part time and full time positions.

Shift Differentials:

• Weekends: $2/hour
• Overnights: $3/hour
• Evenings: $.50/hour

AVAILABLE DSP RESIDENTIAL POSITIONS:

Part time and full time opportunities are available. Schedule may include evenings, overnights, and weekend hours.

WHAT WOULD I BE DOING?

• Provides daily care to the people we support with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
• Assists and encourages the people we support to care for immediate personal needs.
• Assists with planning daily activities and participates in the activities in small groups.
• Documents all program data accurately and timely.
• Provide transportation as needed with agency vehicles.
• Use various software platforms for specific job functions.
• All full time DSP’s in the residential program will be required to obtain and maintain medication certification.
• Meal preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DSP:

• A valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record, per agency policy, and reliable transportation to and from work is required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The physical ability to transfer and lift people with mobility restraints.
• The drive to help others with personal goals and work in a team environment.
• The ability to efficiently use a computer.
