Job summary

Partners For Community is seeking a Residential Support Staff member to assist individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in daily living activities and active treatment aimed at enhancing independence. Responsibilities include implementing program goals, documenting progress, and coordinating transportation for medical, programmatic, and recreational needs within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of DDS systems is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook is expected.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Medication and safety certifications must be acquired within six months.

Responsibilities

• Implement goals and strategies per DDS guidelines and CPM policies.
• Document progress toward program goals according to teaching strategy.
• Provide transportation for medical, programmatic, and recreational activities.
• Maintain vehicle mileage, service, and safety records.
• Escort and file medical progress notes, orders, and appointments.
• Track and document behavioral and program data accurately and timely.
• Respond to crises and emergencies under supervision.
• Report serious incidents to supervisors.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Coordinator.

Summary

The Residential Support Staff is a member of a team that provides direct care support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Residential Support Staff is primarily responsible for ensuring that each assigned individual is provided with active treatment that will afford the opportunity to enhance his/her daily living skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement goals and strategies consistent with DDS guidelines and CPM policies.
• Implement program goals and document progress according to teaching strategy.
• Provide transportation for medical, programmatic, and recreational requirements.
• Maintain required vehicle mileage, service, and safety documentation.
• Provide escort and efficient provision of medical progress notes, timely doctors' orders, and appointments.
• Track and document behavioral and programmatic data in an accurate and timely manner.
• Respond efficiently to crises and emergencies with a calm and reasoned response as necessary or directed by coordinator/supervisor or other member of the management team.
• Report all serious incidents to coordinator/supervisor or other members of the management team.
• All other duties assigned by Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Education - High School diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of DDS systems.
• Knowledge of basic computer technology and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Medication Certification through DDS, First Aid, CPR and PMT certifications must be acquired within six months of hire date and maintained throughout employment.
