Alpha Project is seeking a Primary Substance Abuse Counselor in California to develop and oversee treatment plans for residents and to guide them toward community resources. The role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and documentation in resident files.

The position requires state credentials and experience in residential settings, with CPR/First Aid certification and naloxone knowledge valued. The work supports recovery, housing services, and social reintegration programs.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a registered or certified substance use disorder counselor credential.
• Two years of experience in a substance abuse residential facility or treatment-related field is required.
• CPR and Red Cross First Aid certification are required; Naloxone distribution knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management and direction to residents; develop and monitor Individual Treatment Plans.
• Facilitate resident process groups, classroom activities, and workshops.
• Maintain documentation of resident progress and services provided, per policy.
