Mental Health Connecticut, Inc. (MHC) is seeking a Residential Specialist II for the Waterbury area.

The full-time role runs Friday to Monday, 4:00 pm–12:00 am, delivering direct services to adults in recovery and documenting activities under the Individual Recovery Plans to enhance quality of life. The position involves coordinating with therapists, assisting ADLs, monitoring safety, and maintaining confidential progress charts while facilitating group discussions and wellness activities.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• 2 years of related experience and/or degree in related field, license, certification.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Engage with persons in recovery to assure participation in programs and activities.
• Document all activities, communications, and encounters according to requirements.
• Teach and assist ADL skills to maintain a clean and orderly environment.

Mental Health Connecticut (MHC) is a statewide not for profit provider agency that partners with individuals, their families, and the surrounding communities to create environments that support long-term health and wellness.

MHC has a full-time opening (Friday - Monday; 4:00 pm - 12:00 am; Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) for a Residential Specialist II within the Waterbury area. This position will be responsible for documenting and delivering direct services, including Medicaid reimbursable services if applicable, to adult persons in recovery from chronic mental and other co-occurring conditions as outlined in their Individual Recovery Plans to improve their quality of life and maintain the highest possible ability to function in the community.

Pay Rate: $20.60 per hour. MHC offers a competitive benefit package which includes:

Requirements

The Residential Specialist II responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Engage with persons in recovery to assure they participate in programs and activities.
• Document all activities, communications, and encounters with individuals in recovery according to service contract and MHC requirements.
• Teach and assist Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Act as a liaison with the individuals' therapists, referral sources, and community agencies.
• Monitor the safety of individuals in recovery in their residences through proper supervision of the sites ensuring the maintenance of safe and healthy facilities.
• Identify and refer individuals to appropriate community supports and resources advocating for and supporting individual centered preferences.
• Monitor and document the self-administration of medications noting any refusal, resistance, reactions, errors or special conditions.
• Develop and maintain confidential charts through accurate and timely documentation of daily progress, behaviors, unusual incidents or emergency events.
• Develop and design content and objectives for educational and wellness-related group discussions and activities. Encourage participation, coordinate schedule, and gather the materials needed for the discussion or activity. Implement and facilitate ongoing group activities and discussions with program participants.
• Provide community based or program site coverage when necessary. May be mandated to remain on site or to report beyond scheduled hours to provide essential coverage.

Education and/or Experience:

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• 2 years of related experience and/or degree in related field, license, certification i.e. Recovery Assistant certificate.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Valid driver's license.
