Odyssey Contracting LLC in Garner, NC is seeking a detail-oriented Inside Home Renovation Estimator to drive bids from the office, keeping projects moving from bid to build.

You will review plans, prepare estimates for residential and commercial projects, and manage the permit process across jurisdictions, coordinating with team and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in home renovation estimating.
• Familiarity with residential/commercial construction processes and terminology.
• Experience navigating municipal permitting portals and working with local building departments.
• Strong proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external agencies.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive construction cost estimates for residential and/or commercial projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and scopes of work to develop detailed bid packages.
• Manage the full permit application process, including submitting, tracking, and securing permits across jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with project managers, field crews, and subcontractors to ensure permit timelines align with project schedules.
• Maintain organized records of all estimates, permits, and related documentation.
• Communicate with local municipalities, inspectors, and permitting offices to resolve issues and expedite approvals.
• Assist in value engineering and identifying cost-saving opportunities during the estimating phase.
