Job summary

Oaklawn Psychiatric Center in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Residential Program Coordinator to support youth and families in a treatment-focused environment. You will supervise unit staff and help develop programs for child and adolescent direct care teams, coordinating with therapists, physicians and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social / human services preferred.
• Associates degree with two years of experience working in a child caring institution.
• HS diploma or equivalent with four years of experience in a child caring institution, and two years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily assignments and procedures for unit staff.
• Development of new hires and program development for the child/adolescent direct care teams.
• Interact directly with youth and families. The frequency varies with needs, availability of residents, and acuity level.
• Interact frequently with therapists, physicians, and other employees involved in the case.
• Regular interaction with community resources, providers, coordinate services and referral sources such as: DCS, court, probation, schools, and health care providers.

Minimum Hiring Requirements for a program coordinator

• Bachelors degree in social / human services related field preferred; OR
• Associates degree with two years of experience working in a child caring institution; OR
• HS diploma or equivalent with four years of experience working in a child caring institution, and two years of experience in a leadership capacity required.
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must have a valid driver's license
