Residential Operations Supervisor

Full Time Oceanside, CA, US

Salary: $70,304.00 Annually

Lead the Operations Behind Exceptional Residential Care!

TERI is seeking a Residential Operations Supervisor to oversee staffing coordination, weekend operations, workforce supervision, quality assurance, and operational support across our residential homes.

The Residential Operations Supervisor provides operational and supervisory leadership across TERI's Residential Services department, with a particular focus on staff scheduling, shift coverage, weekend operations, employee supervision, quality assurance, and incident follow-up.

This position directly supervises assigned Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), Weekend Program Managers/Leads, and other residential staff while serving as a key operational resource during weekend services.

The role requires a flexible schedule with varying on-site supervisory responsibilities on Saturdays and Sundays. Remaining work hours offer flexibility based on operational needs and approval from the Director of Residential Services.

The majority of this position is focused on leadership, administration, scheduling, compliance, and operational management rather than routine direct care.

Your Role & Responsibilities –

  • Lead residential staffing and scheduling operations, including shift coverage, call-outs, vacancies, leaves, training needs, emergencies, and staffing contingency plans.
  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop DSPs, Weekend Program Managers/Leads, and assigned residential staff while supporting performance management and employee accountability.
  • Provide on-site weekend leadership across residential homes, conducting visits, verifying coverage, observing operations, and responding to staffing or service concerns in real time.
  • Monitor overtime, double-time, premium pay, and staffing patterns while recommending adjustments that balance safe coverage with responsible labor management.
  • Provide supervisory direction during incidents, behavioral emergencies, medical concerns, staffing shortages, and other urgent operational situations.
  • Conduct quality assurance and compliance follow-up, including documentation reviews, incident reports, chart audits, operational checks, and corrective action tracking.
  • Partner with Residential leadership, families, Regional Center representatives, clinical professionals, and other stakeholders to maintain safe, person-centered, and compliant residential services.

Qualifications –

  • 3+ years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) preferred.
  • 1+ year of supervisory, lead, scheduling, or operational leadership experience in residential or human services preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of residential operations, staff scheduling, shift coverage, quality assurance, incident follow-up, and person-centered services.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to effectively manage staffing challenges and changing operational priorities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including required on-site supervisory coverage on Saturdays and Sundays.
