Job summary

State of Iowa invites applications for a Residential Officer at the Waterloo Residential Correctional Facility. The role is on the 2nd shift (4:00 PM–12:00 AM) with Wednesdays & Thursdays off, offering a starting wage of $22.94 per hour plus shift differential.

You will work as part of a 24-hour community corrections team, delivering direct services to clients and supporting reentry goals. You will engage in high-contact interactions, observe client behaviors, and use evidence-based techniques

Qualifications

• Background investigation required.
• Driver's license required.
• First Aid and CPR certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility security checks and searches.
• Transport clients within the community.
• Use motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral strategies to support change.
• Assist case managers and clients in achieving goals.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety.
