Job summary

Meridian Waste is seeking a Residential Manager to oversee assigned accounts and ensure timely waste pickups while delivering exceptional customer service. You will manage residential routes, review manifests and route sheets, and coordinate with the Dispatcher to resolve issues and adjust container sizes as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma (preferred), a CDL Class B license, and at least 3 years of related supervisory experience in the solid waste industry.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned residential routes ensuring timely and accurate waste collection.
• Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
• Plan daily schedule based on customers’ needs by reviewing daily paperwork (manifest, route sheets) provided by the Dispatcher.
• Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day and ensure proper packaging per regulations.
• Provide high level of customer service to assigned accounts and communicate issues to the Dispatcher for resolution.
• Ensure waste, supplies, and equipment are secured prior to operating the vehicle on public highways.
• Complete and return paperwork to Dispatcher; DOT Driver Log if applicable.
• Communicate route changes to Dispatcher (address changes, non-ready waste, etc.).
• Ensure substitutes for routes are briefed on any deviations.
• Report problems to Dispatcher before end of business day.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on assigned truck; report maintenance issues to shop.
• Comply with all safety policies.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Summary

The Residential Manager is responsible for servicing assigned accounts in the most professional way, ensuring that customers' needs are met on a continual basis for scheduled waste pickups. Provides the highest level of customer service possible at all times.

• Manages assigned residential routes ensuring customers’ waste is picked up in a timely and accurate manner.
• Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
• Plans daily schedule based on customers’ needs by reviewing daily paperwork, e.g., manifest, route sheets, provided by the Dispatcher.
• Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day. Ensures that customers have packaged and prepared the waste according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations before transporting.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts on a daily basis, communicating any issues to the Dispatcher for resolution. This includes, but is not limited to re-routes, adjustments in container sizes, training, etc.
• Ensures waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating vehicle on public highway.
• Ensures that assigned paperwork is completed legibly, neatly, accurately, and completely and returned to the Dispatcher for processing. Ensures DOT Driver Log is completed, if applicable.
• Communicates with Dispatcher regarding any change to route pickups, including address changes, customer not having waste ready for pickup, etc.
• Ensures that employee covering for specific route is aware of any situations outside the norm in order to provide the highest level of customer service.
• Reports any problems/issues with accounts to the Dispatcher before the close of business each day.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on assigned truck prior to leaving or closing for the day. Reports any maintenance problems to the shop for follow-up.
• Comply with all safety policies.

Education / And Or Experience

• High School Diploma preferred
