Job summary

Great Lakes Management Co in Hopkins, MN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to complete all maintenance assignments, assist outside vendors on building and equipment issues, and provide oversight and emergency response to campus equipment and systems.

The role requires hands-on skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, with the ability to read and follow English instructions; shifts may include evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years education and/or experience in maintenance, preferably residential property management.
• Boiler License helpful.
• Skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, appliances, doors & windows.
• Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.
• Ability to motivate oneself and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining all mechanical equipment, emergency systems, building fixtures and groundwork as needed.
• Complete all work orders quickly and efficiently.
• Report any problems/deficiencies to the Director of Maintenance.
• Knowledgeable of building codes and regulatory compliance issues.
• Interacts positively with all team members in maintaining census by immediately completing apartment turns.
• Maintain the grounds; trash, sweep, dumpster areas, snowplow, etc.
• Test the resident security systems as required.
• Assist with custodial duties which include but not limited to; trash removal, carpet cleaning, etc.
• Perform any maintenance task necessary as directed.
