• 3+ years of experience in multifamily or residential property maintenance.
• Proficient in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliances.
• Experience troubleshooting residential heating systems preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Comfortable using work order systems and maintenance software.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance service requests across multiple apartment communities in San Francisco.
• Troubleshoot and repair heating systems (top-vent wall heaters, gas heaters, radiators, hydronic systems, baseboard heaters).
• Perform plumbing repairs including fixture replacements and water heater work.
• Electrical repairs: install fixtures, replace switches/breakers/receptacles, service wall heaters and timers.
• Repair and install drywall, cabinetry, countertops, and interior finishes.
• Paint and surface preparation (interior/exterior).
• Install and repair flooring (LVP, tile, wood).
• Move, install, and service household appliances.
• Perform general groundskeeping and exterior maintenance.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and document work orders with updates to residents and team.

Position Overview

A Bay Area property management company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform repair and maintenance (R&M) work across a portfolio of historic apartment buildings throughout San Francisco. This role requires strong multi-trade experience, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting residents and internal teams.

The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining clean workspaces, communicating effectively with tenants, and delivering high-quality repairs across a wide variety of residential building systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance service requests across multiple apartment communities throughout San Francisco

• Troubleshoot and repair residential heating systems including:

  • Top-vent wall heaters
  • Standing gas heaters
  • Radiator and hydronic systems
  • Electric and baseboard heaters

• Perform plumbing repairs including:

  • Fixture replacements
  • Water heater troubleshooting and repairs
  • Piping and radiator system diagnostics

• Complete electrical repairs such as:

  • Installing fixtures
  • Replacing switches, breakers, and receptacles
  • Servicing electrical wall heaters and timers

• Repair and install drywall, cabinetry, countertops, and interior finishes

• Perform painting and surface preparation (interior/exterior)

• Install and repair flooring including LVP, tile, and wood

• Move, install, and service household appliances

• Perform general groundskeeping and exterior maintenance tasks

• Maintain clean and safe work areas at all job sites

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in multifamily maintenance or residential property maintenance
• Strong working knowledge across multiple trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliances)
• Experience troubleshooting residential heating systems preferred
• Ability to work independently across multiple job locations
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Proficiency using standard hand and power tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable using work order systems and maintenance software
