Job summary

Black Lion Heating in Kirkland, WA is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Tech to provide routine maintenance and repair for residential systems. You will diagnose, repair, and service furnaces, heat pumps, and air conditioning units, and communicate findings to customers.

You will travel within the service area, use an iPad for invoicing, maintain parts and safety gear in your vehicle, and document equipment details.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an HVAC residential service technician.
• Valid driver license and clean driving history.
• Ability to pass a background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Run diagnostics, complete repairs, and perform routine maintenance on furnaces, heat pumps, and AC units.
• Educate customers on proactive repairs, upgrades, and maintenance plans.
• Use an iPad to generate invoices and communicate with the office.
• Travel to job sites within the service area and coordinate with dispatch.
• Maintain stock, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
• Document all installed equipment with make/model/serial numbers and tests.
• Diagnose issues, obtain parts, and calibrate systems per manufacturer specs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Details: Job Location: Black Lion Heating - Kirkland, WA 98033, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $30.00 - $45.00 Hourly, Position: HVAC Service Tech Reports To: Field Supervisor

Purpose

The HVAC Service Tech will provide routine maintenance and service to residential customers as well as trouble shoot issues and provide solutions.

Essential Job Functions

• E Runs diagnostics, completes repairs, and runs routine maintenance on residential gas furnaces, electric furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioning units, ductless mini-splits, duct work, etc.
• E Educate customers by offering proactive repairs, system upgrades, and maintenance agreements.
• E Use an iPad to create customer invoices and communicate with the office.
• E Travel to job sites within the service area and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.
• E Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in your company vehicle.
• E Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary.
• E Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain and replacement parts, calibrate system to manufactures recommendations.
• N Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours

This is a non-exempt position. Work hours to be determined based on the needs of the business. Overtime may be required based on the needs of the business.

Education and Experience

Work Environment

Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. May be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures and/or conditions. Occasionally exposed to wet, snow, hot and humid conditions. Subject to dark confined workspaces such as crawl spaces and attics.

Physical Demands

Moderate to heavy working conditions. Be comfortable with and physically able to safely help lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, stand for long periods of time, bend, crawl and kneel. Must be able to lift 100+ pounds at a time.

Supervisory Responsibility

None. All questionable matters are referred to Supervisor.

Travel

Willing to travel within the following counties King, Snohomish, Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson, Island (travel may occur within other counties).
