Job summary

Access, Inc. in New York, NY is seeking a diligent housekeeper to perform routine cleaning duties at various locations across the five boroughs.

Under the supervision of the Working Supervisor/Team Leader, you will clean restrooms, floors, living areas and kitchens, and learn green cleaning techniques to protect people and the environment. The role is part-time, offers varied hours, and requires reliable punctuality and strong attention to detail.

• Experience in cleaning is preferred.
• Ability to follow cleaning procedures and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Restrooms: clean and sanitize countertops, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, mirrors, floors.
• Floors: sweep and clean floors with brooms, mops, or vacuums; polishing/waxing per request.
• Other areas: clean sinks, countertops, stovetops, microwaves, refrigerators; empty trash; wash dishes as needed.
• Living areas: dust and vacuum furniture, clean floors, make beds.
• Trash: empty wastebaskets and recyclables and transport to disposal area.
• Additional duties: clean rugs, wipe walls, windows, door panels; may include laundry.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Working Supervisor/Team Leader, the housekeeper is responsible for performing the cleaning duties specific to each job. Duties and hours may vary depending upon the size of the home and the number of Cleaning Technicians you may be working with. Ability to learn proper cleaning techniques using green cleaning products is essential. The Cleaning Technician may be responsible for any or all of the following tasks:

Essential Functions

• Restrooms: Clean and sanitize countertops, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, mirrors, floors, etc. Wipe and polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
• Floors: Sweep and clean floors using brooms, mops and/or vacuum cleaners for carpets. Special orders for floors may include polishing and waxing.
• Other areas: Clean and sanitize sinks, countertops, stovetops, microwaves and refrigerators. Clean tables and chairs. Sweep and mop floors. Special orders may include laundry, cleaning inside of refrigerator or stove, loading dishwasher or washing dishes.
• Living Room, Dining Room, Family Rooms, Dens & Bedrooms: Dust and vacuum furniture (chairs, sofas, tables, lamps, knickknacks, etc.). Clean floors and vacuum carpets. Make beds.
• Trash: Empty wastebaskets and recyclables and transport to disposal area.
• Additional Functions: Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner. Wipe marks off walls and dust woodwork. Wash and/or wipe inside windows, door panels, partitions, sills, etc. Additional duties not listed may be assigned.
