Job summary

Hadco Construction in Utah is seeking a proactive Residential Construction Estimator to join our growing Residential Division. You will prepare accurate estimates, review plans, and serve as the main contact from inquiry to awarded work.

You will conduct takeoffs, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, track bids, and support a team culture centered on responsive, high-quality results. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally are required.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating residential construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to convert bids into awarded projects.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
• Proficiency with Excel and estimating tools such as Bluebeam or InSite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, timely cost estimates for residential site work (utilities, grading, excavation).
• Review plans, specs, and bid documents to develop clear scopes and pricing.
• Serve as main contact during the bid process and represent Hadco professionally.
• Perform takeoffs and coordinate pricing with vendors/subcontractors.
• Follow up on bids to convert estimates into awarded work.
• Maintain relationships with builders, developers, and homeowners for repeat business.
• Coordinate awarded projects with Project Managers and field teams.
• Track bids and keep organized estimate files per company systems.

Hadco Construction is seeking a proactive, relationship-focused Residential Construction Estimator to join our growing Residential Division. In this role, you will prepare accurate estimates and serve as a trusted point of contact for clients. You will guide them from the initial inquiry to securing the work. Your ability to communicate effectively, follow up, and build strong relationships will be just as important as your technical estimating skills.

What You'll Do

• Prepare accurate, timely cost estimates for residential site work, including utilities, grading, and excavation.
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop clear scopes of work and competitive pricing.
• Serve as the main point of contact during the bid process. Answer questions, clarify project needs, and represent Hadco professionally.
• Conduct takeoffs and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing.
• Follow up on submitted bids to convert estimates into awarded projects.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with builders, developers, and homeowners to encourage repeat business.
• Coordinate awarded projects with Project Managers and field teams for a seamless handoff.
• Track bids, maintain organized estimate files, and follow company systems for documentation.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site visits as needed.
• Support a team culture focused on responsiveness, accountability, and high-quality results.

What You'll Bring

• Experience in construction estimating is required.
• Sales experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and close work.
• Proven follow-up skills to convert bids into awarded projects.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Bluebeam, InSite, or other estimating tools is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, or willingness to learn.
• Positive, self-motivated, and client-first mindset.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for site visits.
