Southern Home Services is seeking a Service Electrician to join our team in Alabama. You will diagnose, install, repair, and maintain residential electrical systems while ensuring safety and code compliance.

The role emphasizes strong customer communication and high-quality workmanship. You will work directly with homeowners to explain problems and provide options, perform wiring tasks, and adhere to safety standards.

• Alabama Journeyman or Master Electrical License is required.
• 3–5 years of residential electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Positive attitude and commitment to high‑quality work.
• Excellent customer service and ability to engage with customers at all levels.
• Adaptability, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsabilidades

• Performing residential service work by diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical systems, identifying issues, and executing repairs to restore functionality.
• Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, and circuit breakers, to ensure reliable operation.
• Effectively communicating with customers to explain electrical problems, present repair or replacement options, and provide clear recommendations based on their needs.
• Handling physical demands of the job, such as pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and lifting heavy objects safely.
• Performing basic wiring tasks, including installing disconnects, whips, branch circuits, breakers, and other electrical accessories, ensuring proper connections and functionality.
• Utilizing a thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in the electrical trade, including their proper handling and maintenance.
• Applying knowledge of electrical codes and regulations to ensure all work is compliant with local, state, and national standards, and to maintain safety on the job site.
• Additional duties as assigned.

About This Role

We are looking for a Service Electrician to handle a variety of residential electrical tasks. In this role, you will troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and codes. Required Qualifications

• Journeyman or Master Electrical License from Alabama
• 3-5 years of residential electrical experience
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

The Physical Requirements Of This Job Include

• Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
• Ability to drive.
• Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces.
• Ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• The work requires regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow.
