Job summary

Greater Unity Adult Services seeks a Residential Direct Support Professional to provide hands-on care in a residential setting, helping adults develop life skills and participate in their communities.

Evening and overnight shifts are available. You will work with ISPs, assist with ADLs, transport, document progress, and collaborate with families and healthcare teams to create a safe, supportive home environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, or behavioral disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
• Ability to pass required background and registry checks.
• Preferred certifications include Medication Administration, CPR and First Aid.
• Experience writing therapeutic documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support based on Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
• Teach independent living skills and encourage personal growth.
• Administer medications and prepare meals.
• Transport individuals to appointments and community activities.
• Complete daily documentation and progress notes.
• Implement behavior support strategies and assist during crisis situations when needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment.
• Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Tuesday, Thursday 11pm-8am & Saturdays 8pm-8am
