Job summary

Gilcrest Jewett, a Division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, is seeking a skilled architectural designer to produce detailed residential home layouts using Revit and related BIM tools for pricing, permitting, and construction.

You will develop floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models, create construction documents, and coordinate with engineers, architects, designers, and contractors to ensure plans meet codes and project intent.

Qualifications

• Special skills required: Proficient technical writing skills. Excellent salesmanship and communication skills.
• Minimum education required: architectural or design related field, prefer Bachelor's degree.
• Special knowledge required: Reading and interpreting blueprints in an architectural related industry.
• Other: PC Literate with Microsoft Office products and design programs such as Revit, SoftPlan, CAD or other design programs that facilitate learning in-house program with ease.

Responsibilities

• Designs complete residential home layouts including floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models using Revit.
• Develops detailed construction documents for whole home design projects.
• Discuss changes and corrections with engineers, architects, designers, and contractors prior to and during construction.
• Prepares and reviews Revit models to ensure accuracy and alignment with design intent.
• Produces material lists and assists with takeoffs for residential projects.
• Resolves architectural and design discrepancies.
• Ensure plans comply with local building codes, zoning requirements, and company standards.
• Maintains organized project files and documentation.
• Performs other related duties as required by Management
• Read and understand blueprints and detailed technical drawings.
• Use Revit or other technical equipment to provide a technically accurate layout (takeoff) of customer orders.
• Adhere to local building codes and material constraints when developing material lists and design layouts.
• Produce final construction documents for contractor use including kitchens, bathrooms, additions, remodels, and full home builds.
• Assist internal and external customers as required, providing accurate, timely, and thorough support.
• Measure and scale projects on-site as needed.
• Attend training as required to maintain current knowledge of Revit, BIM standards, and residential design practices.
• Coordinate with purchasing, estimating, sales and production teams as needed.
• Assist with permitting documentation and submittals.
• Meet with clients to discuss their project.
• Assist in peer-led training sessions covering team-specific software and standard operating procedures.

Job Summary: Use computer or technical tools to prepare detailed presentation of residential home designs, building material requirements, and structural systems for assigned projects. May design and complete full home layouts using Revit for pricing, permitting, and construction.

Essential Job Duties:

• Designs complete residential home layouts including floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models using Revit.
• Develops detailed construction documents for whole home design projects.
• Discuss changes and corrections with engineers, architects, designers, and contractors prior to and during construction.

• Complies with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other related duties as required by Management
