Job summary

Vinfen in Kingston, MA is seeking an ACCS Residential Counselor to provide direct support to individuals with psychiatric conditions in a group living setting. You will work closely with residents, families, staff, and community partners to promote independence and improve quality of life.

Responsibilities include administering medications under MAP, helping with daily activities, and supporting recovery-oriented, person-centered care plans in collaboration with the Clinical Program Director.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in a human services discipline preferred.
  • Prior experience in a human services setting strongly preferred.
  • Preference given to bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived psychiatric experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid US driver's license for at least 6 months; able to pass CORI, driving record, employment reference checks and multi-state background checks.
  • Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within two weeks of hire and MAP certification within 150 days of hire.

Overview

As an ACCS Residential Counselor, you will provide direct support to people with psychiatric conditions in a residential Group Living Environment designed to foster independence. In your role you will work together with the people we serve, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to transform their lives by either building independence skills or increasing each person's quality of life.

In this role you will have a range of duties include administrating medication under the Medication Administration Plan (MAP) and assisting people with activities of daily living, such as household chores and cooking. You will also work alongside the Clinical Program Director to implement treatment plans which are recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent and strengths-based approaches.
