Job Summary

Evolve Treatment Centers is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Residential Counselor to join our team at one of our 6-bed teen residential treatment centers. The position involves providing supervision to up to 6 adolescents in residential treatment for 30-60 days for issues related to mental health and substance abuse. Residential Counselors support clients in their daily activities and facilitate groups. This role offers a significant impact on the lives of teens and their families. The candidate may also pursue further education in mental health or social services.

Residential Counselors must be flexible, patient, resilient, reliable team players, and maintain appropriate boundaries. The role may involve exposure to COVID-19; PPE and safety guidelines are followed in accordance with state and local requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support and supervision to clients struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues.
• Establish positive and nurturing relationships with clients within professional boundaries.
• Maintain vigilance and awareness of the milieu while monitoring behavior, activities, and safety of clients.
• Engage in activities such as hikes, equine therapy, surf therapy, and fitness groups.
• Create a constructive therapeutic community in accordance with the center’s policies.
• Conduct and facilitate psycho-education groups and recreational activities.
• Perform crisis management and interventions as necessary.
• Demonstrate model behaviors.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all shift activities.
• Oversee and participate in meal times and assist clients with life skills such as laundry, dishes, and making bed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• All schedules require working at least one weekend shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with teens preferred.
• Experience working in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.

Pay Range

• $21.00 - $29.00 hourly (future earning potential).

Target Starting Hourly Rate

• $24.00.
