Job summary

MHM Services, a Centurion company, delivers mental health services to the California Department of State Hospitals-Forensic ACT program. The Residential Counselor provides community-based services and monitoring for FACT clients, including judicially committed individuals and mentally disordered offenders.

Under the FACT Program Director, duties include facilitating skills-based groups, delivering psychoeducation, and assisting clients with access to community resources.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of mental health experience preferred.
• Community-based mental health experience preferred.
• Background investigation required.
• Active CPR certification preferred.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Proof of auto insurance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts structured skills-based groups for coping skills, time management, and self‑regulation.
• Provides psychoeducation for clients who are incompetent to stand trial individually or in groups.
• Help clients connect to community services (Medicare, insurance, volunteering, school, etc.).
• Addresses social skills (communication, conflict resolution, daily living, job skills).
• Supports client documentation and medication management; monitors client progress.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $25.00/hr to $27.50/hr Depending on ExperienceShift Differential for WeekendsSchedule: Friday through Monday; 7:00am to 3:30pmMHM Services, a Centurion company, is proud to be the provider of mental health services to the California Department of State Hospitals-Forensic Assertive Community Treatment Program (FACT). The FACT program is a statewide system that provides an unlocked, supervised living environment with 24-hour staffing. FACT's model of care is centralized services with a slow transition to community-based services.Under the direction of the Fact Program Director, the Residential Counselor provides community-based services and monitoring for FACT clients to include judicially committed individuals and mentally disordered offenders.
