Job summary

VisionQuest (VQ) seeks a Cook to deliver nutritious, kid-friendly meals to children in our care. This role requires culinary expertise, creativity, and a commitment to maintaining a positive dining environment that supports health, growth, and well-being.

Schedule: Wednesdays 12pm–6pm and Thursdays–Saturdays 6am–6pm. Plan and prepare balanced meals, follow menus, ensure food safety, manage inventory, and collaborate with residential staff to meet dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum GED or High School Diploma.
• Current Food Managers/Handlers certificate or ability to obtain after hire.
• Experience as a cook in residential or institutional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare well-balanced meals for children in VisionQuest care.
• Adhere to provided menus and adapt for dietary needs.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene practices.
• Manage inventory and organize kitchen workflows within budget.
• Collaborate with residential staff to communicate dietary requirements.
• Participate in meetings and training related to residents' dietary needs.
