Job summary

Highland Rivers Behavioral Health in Pickens County seeks a Residential Care Technician to support daily living activities for men in a voluntary residential recovery facility. The role includes monitoring behavior and assisting with basic skills and recovery activities.

The position involves guiding residents, supporting medication administration, and aiding in GED pursuit, job placement, and group activities. Transportation may be required and duties evolve with program needs.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor client's behavior and document observations and incidents.
• Assist in training of basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills.
• Provide guidance, motivation and encouragement to promote recovery.
• Oversee self-administration of medication.
• Assist in obtaining GEDs, resume building, job placement and may transport consumers to and from part-time jobs.
• Serve as mentors and assist in group and outing activities.
• Assist with knowledge of substance misuse and problems encountered by chemically dependent individuals; basic understanding of behavior management.
• Assist with daily living activities for residents.
• Provide training on basic social skills, simple academics or work skills to individuals.
• May assist with meal preparation, encouraging client group activity.
• May provide transportation.
• Other duties as assigned.
