Job summary

Weidner + Hasou Design, LLC seeks a creative Residential Architectural Designer to join our team in Houston. You will assist in every step from client meetings to construction site visits on both new homes and renovations.

You will execute small-scale residential projects and support larger ones with the Principal Designers, drafting cabinetry and floor plans, and presenting concepts to clients. Based in our Houston office, with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• NCBCD certification preferred.
• Knowledge of residential plans and construction drawings required.
• Proficient computer design software required.
• Lumion/SketchUp knowledge preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Service-oriented mindset with a team player attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide design expertise and full execution of small-scale residential design projects.
• Support with large-scale projects in collaboration with the Principal Designers.
• Draft cabinetry and floor plans in collaboration with the Interior Design Team.
• Prepare design presentations and communicate concepts directly with clients.
• Prepare contract drawings, details, and sketches from concept through construction for single-family remodels.
• Revise plans and coordinate all sheets affected by changes.
• Ensure all plans comply with codes and requirements and align with fiscal goals.

Education

Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field

NCBCD certification (preferred)

Strong written and verbal communication

Job description

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Residential Architectural Designer to join our team. As a full-service residential design firm, Weidner + Hasou Design, LLC assists clients with architectural design plans for new homes and renovations. As a member of the architectural design team, you will assist in every step of the development of plans, from initial client meetings through to construction site visits.

Responsibilities:

• Provide design expertise and full execution of small-scale residential design projects.
• Support with large-scale projects in collaboration with the Principal Designers.
• Support the Interior Design Team by drafting of cabinetry and floor plans.
• Prepare appropriate design presentations, meeting directly with the Client to communicate design concepts.
• Prepare contract drawings, details and sketches from conceptual design through to construction for single-family remodeling plans.
• Revise architectural plans as marked and thoroughly coordinate all sheets that are affected by any changes
• Ensure all architectural plans are compliant with the codes and requirements
• Ensure fiscal goals are achieved.

Additional Information:

Full time position: 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

This position will be based at our Houston office.
