Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced architect to lead high-end residential and hospitality design in New York. You will produce detailed Revit models and architectural documentation, collaborating with architects, interior designers, project managers, and consultants to ensure design intent is realized.

The role emphasizes craft, detailed detailing, and constructability, with a strong focus on wood frame construction and coordination across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in residential architecture; the posting also states a minimum 5 years of applicable design experience in residential architecture.
• Experience in high-end residential or hospitality design.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and architectural detailing.
• Experience with Rhino, 3ds Max, and SketchUp.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experienced in wood frame construction documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, design-focused open environment.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and commitment to technical excellence.
• Able to self-motivate and work well under deadlines.
• Strong client relationship management ability.
• Strong commitment to quality.
• Architectural licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, interior designers, project managers, and consultants to develop and integrate complex architectural elements
• Support design and development of specialty components including stairs, roofs, façades, and custom installations
• Translate conceptual design intent into coordinated BIM models for construction documentation
• Produce detailed Revit models and drawings supporting fabrication, coordination, and construction
• Act as a technical resource for problem-solving and detailing strategies across project phases
• Participate in internal reviews and cross-team coordination to maintain design quality, consistency, and office standards
• Work with consultants, fabricators, and contractors to ensure constructability, coordination, and alignment with design intent
• Support design and execution of complex architectural elements across residential projects
