Turning Point, Inc. in Amesbury, MA is seeking an Assistant Program Manager to support residents with developmental disabilities and/or traumatic brain injury.

You will assist the Program Manager in supervising staff, implementing ISP goals, and upholding safety and human rights in licensed group residences. Responsibilities include staff coaching, ensuring case management documentation, coordinating daily living activities, meals planning, transportation, and maintaining required certifications

Qualifications

• Minimum five years direct support residential experience.
• Knowledge of behavior plans for developmentally disabled individuals/traumatic brain injury.
• Prior staff training or leadership experience desirable.
• Must have CPR, First Aid, MAP, Human Rights Advocate and PABC certifications.
• CORI, driving record, and fingerprinting checks required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Manager in maintaining a safe environment and ensuring rights and safety in licensed residences.
• Ensure staff follow ISP goals, objectives, and case management responsibilities with timely documentation.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and coordination of meals and nutrition.
• Coordinate transportation to medical and other appointments as assigned.
• Lead in training, onboarding, and orientation of new staff and ongoing staff development.
• Maintain documentation such as logs, incident reports, and MAP-related records.

Job Summary

Turning Point, Inc. is looking to add compassionate and dedicated Assistant Program Manager to our team! The Assistant Program Manager fulfills programmatic responsibilities by taking a leadership role in assisting the Program Manager in providing support and supervision to developmentally disabled and/or individuals with traumatic brain injury residing in group residences. The Assistant Program Manager maintains the safety and Human Rights of the individuals being supported, as well as implementing Individual Service Plans (ISP) goals and strategies of Turning Point, Inc.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Program Manager in maintaining a safe environment and ensures the Human Rights and Safety of individuals are being met in a residential setting licensed by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) or Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC)
• Ensures all program staff follow all agency and program philosophy, ISP goals, objectives, and Case Management responsibilities, to include ensuring that all case management documentation is completed in a timely fashion.
• Assists and supervises individuals with all activities of daily living including, but not limited to hygiene, household chores, cooking, shopping, banking, and community activities
• Assist Program Manager in the planning of menus to ensure that physician ordered diets are followed and help the Program Manager to ensure individuals make good dietary nutritional choices. Ensure that the menu is completed on a weekly basis and filed in the proper place. Ensure that food shopping and Coast shopping is completed regularly.
• Assists individuals with transportation to medical, dental, psychiatric, and other appointments, as assigned by the Program Manager.
• Follow all behavior plans and maintain required data collection. Assists Program Manager by role modeling required behavior plans and interventions, as well as helping staff to understand and execute all behavior plans and ISP goals/ strategies for each individual
• Completes all documentation in a timely manner, including, but not limited to communication logs, shifts notes, incident reports, restraint forms, MAP documentation, etc.
• Takes lead in helping program staff follow the program’s operational policies and procedures, as directed by the Program Manager and/or Coordinator
• Assists Program Manager with interviewing of new candidates or internal employees. May sit in on performance and development goals meetings
• Assist in the training and orientation of new program staff, as well as the clarification of program policies and procedures for new and existing staff, as directed by the Program Manager
• Engages in a positive manner with the individuals, their families and/or guardians, providers, and other staff and management
• Attends monthly team meetings and any trainings as directed.
• Maintains current CPR and First Aid certification, as well as MAP and PABC as applicable
• Maintains all the MAP responsibilities in the program to include completing the MAP Supervisory documentation on a weekly basis, ensuring that there is enough medication in the program, and works directly with the Program Nurse to ensure that all medical needs are met regularly.
• Ensures that the financials in the program are being followed on a regular basis, responsible for counting the money every shift, and ensuring that the staff are doing so as well. Responsible for checks and balances and working with the Program Manager to ensure that all the individuals have their financial needs met.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or Coordinator

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D required. Associates Degree or pursuing degree preferred
• A minimum of (5) five years’ direct support residential experience and/or closely related experience working with developmentally disabled individuals and/or individuals with traumatic brain injury
• A working knowledge behavior plans for developmentally disabled individuals and/or individuals with traumatic brain injury, as required by the position
• Prior staff training and/or leadership experience is desirable
• Must possess current First Aid, CPR, MAP, Human Rights Advocate, and PABC certifications (where required) and any other certifications as required
• Pass a CORI, Driving Record, and Fingerprinting checks prior to beginning of work and continued employment, as required by the position responsibilities and company policies
• Ability to meet physical requirements such as standing, walking, lifting, turning, and squatting
• Ability to drive a 4-6 passenger van in order to transport residents
