Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Ensure residents' safety and care through supervision of activities.
  • Complete exit process with residents.
  • Provide hands-on life skills training to residents.
  • Collaborate with case management to implement resident case plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Monitor progress in daily living skills.
  • Supervise adherence to rules and shelter routines.
  • Plan and supervise family recreational activities.
  • Distribute and monitor prescription medications.
  • Document in program logs and weekly progress reports.

Job description

Ensures residents’ compliance with program during their scheduled shift and provides crisis intervention as necessary. Monitors the residents’ adherence to rules, policies and procedures, and/or concrete service plans, ensuring safety, cleanliness and order in the short-term family housing community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides for the overall safety and care of residents through appropriate supervision of their activities.
  • Completes exit process with residents.
  • Provides hands-on life skills training by assisting residents with daily living skills.
  • Works as part of the case management team to implement the case plan of each resident.
  • Provides crisis intervention as required.
  • Monitors progress of residents in daily living skills.
  • Supervises residents’ adherence to rules and daily shelter routine.
  • Supports, plans and supervises family recreational activities.
  • Distributes medication as needed and monitors medication compliance (prescription medications only).
  • Completes appropriate documentation in the program log as well as weekly progress reports in a timely fashion, including client no-shows and other safety concerns.
  • Writes work orders for needed repairs.
  • Conducts regular building inspections and apartment searches.
  • Retrieves, distributes and forwards program and resident mail.
  • Monitors internal and external facility appearance and readiness for new residents.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Advocates for the needs of residents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required y this job require close vision working with a computer monitor. While performing the duties of this job, employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. While performing the responsibilities of the employee’s job, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the employee will encounter. Salary: $18.40 - $21 per Hour
