Job summary

Skywood Recovery Center, a residential treatment facility in Augusta, MI, seeks a Residential Assistant to monitor and care for patients. You will support admissions orientation, conduct psycho-educational groups, and apply patient-centered approaches.

You will use motivational interviewing, de-escalation, and maintain confidentiality while assisting with daily living tasks and safety checks. A high school diploma or GED and CPR certification or willingness to obtain CPR is required.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills for patient care.
• Ability to use basic word processing and spreadsheets (MS Word, Excel).
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Ensures orientation of new patients immediately upon admission.
• Conducts psycho-educational groups with patients.
• Provides empathic, supportive approach to all patient interactions.
• Utilizes motivational interviewing and patient-centered techniques when assisting patients.
• Employs de-escalation techniques and maintains program schedule.
• Performs room checks, safety checks and patient supervision checks as required.
• Maintains work area cleanliness and assists patients with daily living tasks.
