Job summary

Community and Family Resources seeks a Residential Admissions and Authorization Specialist for our Des Moines residential programs. You will guide clients through admissions and coordinate with clinical and insurance teams to ensure a smooth transition into our facility.

This role requires an associate degree and at least two years in substance use treatment, with preferred CADC certification. Strong communication with referrals and insurance providers is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Two years of experience in substance use treatment or related field required.
• Experience with insurance billing or prior authorizations preferred.
• Experience with clients who have co-occurring symptoms preferred.
• Current certification as a CADC/CADC/IADC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with referring agency to determine if a client meets residential requirements.
• Conduct initial interviews and explain the treatment process to clients and referral sources.
• Staff referrals with the Residential Program Supervisor and medical/clinical teams prior to admission.
• Prepare clients for admission with preadmission contact.
• Review client records and insurance benefits to determine need for prior authorization.
