Job summary

Liberty University is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses on site in Lynchburg, VA. This part-time role supports the university’s mission by delivering engaging instruction and fostering a Christian worldview across student learning experiences.

The candidate should hold a Master’s degree or higher, have minimum three years of K-12 classroom teaching, and demonstrate strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Teaching at the college level is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher required and documented.
• Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience in K-12.
• Full doctrinal compatibility with Liberty University.
• Degree from an institution accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills.
• Creative, innovative, and problem-solving abilities; organized and timely.

Responsibilities

• Teach course content in person.
• Visit and observe local student teachers on site.
• Plan and implement engaging instruction for retention.
• Utilize software, LU resources, and LMS for active learning.
• Communicate with students weekly and respond to emails within 36 hours.
• Maintain LMS content and updates per guidance and approval.
• Adhere to grading policies and timelines (within 5 days).
• Coordinate with Faculty Support Coordinator, Department Chair, and Associate Dean.
• Reflect on teaching effectiveness via evaluations and portfolios.
• And other duties as assigned.
