Job summary

Ohio Living is seeking an Activities Assistant to support daily programming that enhances residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being in a caring environment.

The role focuses on coordinating activities, encouraging participation in hobbies, and maintaining respectful communication with residents and families. A high school diploma is required and experience in long-term care is preferred for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year activities experience preferred.
• Two years experience in a long-term care, hospital, or other related healthcare setting preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Provide programming that meets residents' interests and well-being.
• Encourage and assist residents to participate in hobbies and crafts.
• Assist bed-bound residents by visiting, writing/reading letters, providing materials for hobbies, etc.
• May assist with transporting residents to/from dining areas and accompany to off-site activities.
• Interact with residents to ensure quality care and positive resident/staff relations.
