Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living in Englewood, NJ is seeking a transportation assistant to support activities through resident transport and bus assistance. You will greet residents warmly and drive in compliance with local and state laws while maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness.

You will coordinate maintenance, report malfunctions, and complete incident reports as needed. Additional duties include errands and dining room assistance under the Lifestyle Director’s guidance.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting residents with transportation tasks and activities.
• Ability to greet residents courteously and assist during outings.
• Strong sense of safety and responsibility when driving and handling vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Assists with Activities’ transportation.
• Assists Residents onto and off of the bus.
• Greet Residents in a courteous and pleasant manner.
• Drive vehicle abiding by all local and state laws.
• Drive responsibly, without weaving, tail gating, excessive lane changing, and all other irresponsible actions.
• Coordinates proper maintenance and cleaning schedule of the company vehicles.
• Report vehicle malfunctions to the Lifestyle Director.
• Report any vehicle incidents to the Lifestyle Director.
• Complete an incident report for any Resident accidents, injuries or incidents.
• Ensure the vehicle is cleaned out after every trip.
• Performs errands as assigned by Executive Director/General Manager and/or Lifestyle Director.
• Assists the Lifestyle Director with activities-related assignments.
• Assist in dining room as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Lifestyle Director, Executive Director/General Manager or Manager on duty.
