Job summary

TGTHR is seeking a Resident Support Specialist to create a safe, trauma-informed environment for youth at 1440 Pine in Boulder. The role focuses on daily engagement, emotional support, and teaching independent living skills while coordinating with a broader support team.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth or vulnerable populations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field; work experience in lieu of a degree accepted.
  • Flexible shifts; must be 21+ years of age.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with computerized office systems (Google Suite, Gmail, Google Docs).
  • Conflict mediation and resolution skills.
  • Trauma-responsive, anti-racist, anti-oppressive approach.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and resilience under pressure.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., move up/down stairs, and sit for long periods while typing.

TGTHR Resident Support Specialist
Position Reports to: 1440 Program Manager
Supervises: N/A
FLSA Status: Part-Time (20 hours/week), Non-Exempt
Location: 1440 Pine, Boulder CO
Compensation: $22-$24 per hour
Deadline: The application will be open from August 31, 2026 - September 14, 2026. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Using a Housing First model, 1440 Pine provides stable, affordable housing paired with supportive services to help tenants transition to independence and prevent long-term homelessness. More than just a place to live, 1440 Pine offers supportive services to increase stability, creative spaces, and a strong sense of community—empowering young people to build brighter futures and permanently exit homelessness.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Resident Support Specialist, you’ll help make that a reality by creating a positive, trauma-informed environment where youth can heal, grow, and thrive.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Foster a safe, stable, and empowering living space.
  • Provide day-to-day engagement and emotional support to residents.
  • Help youth build independent living skills including but not limited to budgeting, cooking, and personal care.

Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience working with youth or vulnerable populations.

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with computerized office systems (e.g., Google Suite to include Gmail and Google Docs, phone systems).

  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
  • Trauma-responsive, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive approach.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and resilience under pressure.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., move up and down stairs, and sit for long periods while performing typing duties.
PREFERRED
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills.
  • At least one year of paid or volunteer experience in a related field.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION
Compensation: $22- $24/per hour
