Job summary

Touchstone Mental Health seeks a Part-Time Resident Support Specialist Float to assist clients across three Minneapolis housing programs. You will build supportive relationships, monitor health changes, and assist with daily living tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Evening and overnight weekend or weekday shifts, with short-notice scheduling. Training provided; you're part of a team delivering compassionate, person-centered services to residents and ensuring safe, welcoming housing.

Qualifications

• Ability to work at any one of our three locations in Minneapolis
• Ability to work shifts on short notice
• Work from 4:00pm to 12:30am or 11:55pm to 8:30am
• Experience supporting adults with mental illness, co-occurring disorders, or long-term homelessness preferred

Responsibilities

• Establishes supportive and motivational relationships with residents.
• Observe residents for health changes; perform behavioral management interventions; de-escalate crises.
• Perform delegated nursing services, including medication assistance, under nursing staff supervision.
• Promote participation in community activities; provide support and prompts for socialization.
• Support cleanliness of common areas and bedrooms; complete housekeeping duties.
• Ensure residents and guests follow site guidelines for safety and security.
• Collaborate with staff, consultants, interns and volunteers.

Resident Support Specialist Float

Starting Pay: $21.00

Weekend floats are scheduled to work every weekend at one of our three locations in Minneapolis.

Schedule A: Evening Weekend Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, 4:00pm to 12:30am – OR –

Schedule B: Overnight Weekend Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, 11:55pm to 8:30am

Weekday floats must be available to work any shift during the week, on short notice, at any of one of our three locations in Minneapolis.

Weekday floats will be scheduled to work in advance once every other week.

Scedule C: Evening Weekday Schedule: Mondays through Fridays 4:00pm to 12:30am - OR -

Schedule D: Overnight Weekday Schedule: Mondays through Fridays 11:55pm to 8:30am

Location: Minneapolis (Elliot Park, Seward, Longfellow)

TMH’s Resident Support Specialist provides support to clients in our three supportive housing programs, all of which are located in Minneapolis, on short notice.

Resident Support Specialist Responsibilities:

• Establishes supportive and motivational relationships with residents.
• Observe residents for changes in health symptoms; perform behavioral management interventions; and de-escalate mental health crises.
• Perform delegated nursing services, including medication assistance, as unlicensed personnel under the direction of the nursing staff.
• Promote participation in community activities; and provide support and prompts that encourage socialization.
• Support the cleanliness of common areas and bedrooms and complete housekeeping duties.
• Ensure residents and their guests are following site guidelines to ensure the facility is safe and secure.
• Collaborate with other staff members, consultants, interns and/or volunteers.

Resident Support Specialist Requirements:

• Ability to work at any one of our three locations in Minneapolis
• Ability to work shifts on short notice
• Ability to work from 4:00pm to 12:30am OR from 11:55pm to 8:30am
• Previous experience supporting adults with mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and/or long-term homelessness preferred
