Job description

The Resident Services Representative is charged with creating and maintaining good customer service within his or her assigned managed properties. The position requires good judgment, energy, commitment, caring, self‑discipline, knowledge of CADA resources, sensitivity to cultural diversity, and common sense.

Specifically, the Resident Services Representative performs duties relative to the monitoring and maintenance of CADA’s residential housing units; maintains exterior and interior building areas; assists and informs residents in the interpretation of policies and procedures of our housing programs; and performs a variety of duties relative to assigned area of responsibility.

STAFF ARE REQUIRED TO LIVE ON-SITE. A RENT-FREE APARTMENT IS PROVIDED. Essential functions are listed in order of importance, beginning with “A.”

  • A Observe and report the maintenance requirements and tenant relations of CADA’s residential rental buildings. Maintain interior and exterior areas by collecting and dumping trash, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning surfaces, and performing landscaping duties.
  • B Respond to tenant and public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in a timely and efficient manner. Inform and assist residents in the interpretation of CADA’s policies and procedures; inform residents of warnings for violating policies and procedures. Continually assess residents needs; work with staff to ensure these needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • C Respond to building emergencies such as fire, medical or other activities which require emergency, law enforcement or other agency response; inform CADA of all such activities; maintain ongoing communication with authorities and enforcement agencies for resolution of issues.
Other Duties:
  • D Perform maintenance repair work as directed.
  • E Participate in assigned meetings as requested. Provide responsible staff/project assistance as directed.
  • F Coordinate with CADA staff and outside agencies for residents with special needs including the elderly and handicapped.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Some experience in property/apartment management. Experience performing minor repairs and maintenance preferred.

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environmental Conditions: Office and apartment complex environment; exposure to dust and noise, work in inclement weather conditions.

Physical Conditions: Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for performance of assigned duties; lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; operating motorized equipment.

Employees in this position must possess, or be able to secure, a valid California driver’s license.
