Job summary

    The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
Description

The Resident Services Director is the primary point of contact for Independent Living residents, and is integral in ensuring resident comments, concerns and requests are addressed expeditiously. Works closely with the Sales Team and Plant Operations to ensure occupancy goals are met. Monitors policies and procedures, public relations and employee morale. Incorporates Generations' Mission, Vision, and Values into their daily work and interactions with others.

Salary range: $72,000 - $82,000

Job Duties:

  • Attend Independent Living resident meetings. Address resident questions and/or concerns if applicable.
  • Reviews policies and procedures periodically and make changes as necessary.
  • Assists in preparing job descriptions and policy manuals.
  • Establishes a safety program including a Fire and Disaster plan.
  • Participates in staff training.
  • Receives suggestions from department heads and other individuals on matters pertaining to department operations and external relationships. Responds to suggestions promptly and in writing if necessary.
  • Reviews Independent Living financial reports monthly. Prepares census reports as outlined by the management company.
  • Assists personnel and residents in establishing a home-like atmosphere.
  • Incorporates choice, dignity, independence, individuality and privacy into job performance on a daily basis. Encourages staff to uphold the same principles.
  • Reviews the physical environment of the community on a regular basis and directs requests for repair and replacement when necessary.
  • Assists the Sales department in new residents move-ins, transfers and move-outs. Coordinates with other departments if necessary.
  • Assists the Executive Director in carrying out the goals and objectives of the community at large.
  • Assists residents and family members with any concerns or questions. Follow up and carry out as needed.
  • Develop and maintain an ongoing relationship with the residents.
  • Personally meet each new resident within 72-hours of move-in.
  • Visit all residents minimally once a year.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional comfort of the residents.
  • Encourage socialization and a spirit of community by promoting regular interactive events for part of, or the entire community.
  • Be involved in the monthly and weekly Sales meetings to provide strategies for the future and smooth move-ins in the community.
  • Maintains good personal appearance and adheres to dress code as outlined in the employee manual.
  • Accepts criticism or redirection in positive manner and shows willingness to redirect behavior, performance or attitude as instructed by manager.
  • May have oversight of Housekeeping and/or Plant Operations staff
  • All other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Supervision:

  • Must be self-directed and posses the ability to make decisions. Is accountable for department performance. Works closely with the Executive Director and other community leaders.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or GED
  • Experience working in a long-term care setting.
  • Must be able to cooperate well with others.
  • Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.

Working Conditions:

Works in well lit, well ventilated office. Deals with the public, personnel, visitors, family members and residents under all circumstances. Works most often at the facility. Occasionally may need to work out of facility.
