Job summary

Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to serve as a point of contact for residents and staff across healthcare and culinary departments. This role ensures resident services run smoothly by leading by example, modeling care expectations, and advocating for the community’s vision.

The RSC will coordinate with healthcare and culinary teams, supervise daily tasks, and support activities that engage residents while maintaining safety and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

  • One to three years of healthcare and/or culinary services experience.
  • One to three years of managerial experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain vital signs and notify supervising nurse per the ISP.
  • Follow residents' ISP and daily task sheets.
  • Communicate changes in resident status to appropriate supervisors.
  • Assist with activities and encourage resident engagement and participation.

Job description

Job Summary

The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) serves as a point of contact for residents and employees in the healthcare and culinary departments. This role ensures resident services function smoothly by leading by example, modeling care expectations, and providing support. The RSC acts as an advocate for the community’s vision and values.

Essential Functions:

The following essential functions are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Healthcare
  • Obtain vital signs and notify the supervising nurse of deviations per the Individualized Service Plan (ISP)

  • Follow residents’ ISP and daily task sheets

  • Communicate changes in resident status or home situation to appropriate supervisors

  • Utilize standard precautions and infection control procedures

  • Follow written instructions and request assistance when needed

  • Maintain a safe and clean resident environment

  • Exhibit a caring and respectful attitude toward residents and their property

  • Assist with activities and encourage resident engagement and participation

  • Uphold confidentiality of residents and coworkers (HIPPA)

  • Provide assistance with:

    • Personal hygiene

    • Changing bed linens and making beds

    • Toileting and incontinent care

    • Nutritional and fluid intake

    • Dressing

    • Ambulation and transfers

    • Positioning

    • Medication reminders

  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice

Culinary
  • Prepare schedules for Cooks and Culinary Service Aides

  • Ensure quality food preparation and presentation

  • Plan menus minimizing leftovers

  • Prepare food, serve meals, and clean dishes

  • Develop and update the full-service “Anytime” menu

  • Maintain food storage and rotation

  • Order food and supplies as needed

  • Maintain a three-day supply of dry goods for emergency situations

  • Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment, food, and supplies and complete annual inventories

  • Comply with food storage, sanitation, and hazardous material regulations

  • Monitor temperatures and cleaning schedules

  • Ensure proper sanitation practices and train appropriate staff

  • Conduct culinary service meetings

  • Use proper body mechanics when lifting or pushing carts

Miscellaneous
  • Participate in hiring and training staff

  • Enforce and comply with PPE requirements

  • Train new employees on job duties and Policies & Procedures

  • Attend bi-weekly and mandatory in-service meetings

  • Follow all community and company policies and the Employee Handbook

  • Report unsafe conditions immediately

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience
  • One to three years of experience and/or training in healthcare and/or culinary services, or equivalent education

Physical & Work Requirements
  • Regular standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and use of hands

  • Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, or smelling

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

  • Indoor, climate-controlled work environment

  • Possible exposure to outdoor weather, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and electrical risks

  • Continuous interaction with residents and family members under stress

  • Position is consideredsafety-sensitive
