NHE is seeking a dedicated Resident Service Coordinator for Jaycee Towers in Dayton, OH. You will educate residents, coordinate non-clinical assessments, referrals, and services, and partner with Area Agency on Aging and other providers to support aging in place.
You will manage daily documentation, maintain partnerships with property management, participate in meetings, and navigate benefits and entitlements to help residents access supports with professionalism and autonomy.

Resident Service Coordinators proactively educate and provide referrals and services to residents that include frail and at-risk residents in affordable/HUD subsidized housing. They empower residents to live independently and exercise their right to self‑determination, and provide quality federal, state, and community‑based referral services that meet resident needs to successfully age in place. The role requires exemplary customer service and social‑service skills, acting as a liaison between residents, the community, and community service providers. Personal and interpersonal professional skills build strong relationships with providers to ensure clients receive appropriate services. Resident Service Coordinators conduct comprehensive non‑clinical intake and assessments for wellness and social needs, connect residents with appropriate providers and services, and provide follow‑up monitoring and communication with service providers. They must apply critical thinking, work independently, and demonstrate autonomy.
The minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a social service related field (or equivalent HUD‑required work experience), knowledge of elderly and disability services, knowledge of referral processes, demonstrated working knowledge of local services for the elderly and people with disabilities, and 2–3 years of social service delivery experience. Preferable experience with elderly populations or persons with disabilities. Training in cultural competency and bilingual skills are assets.
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions; handle problems with a few concrete variables; critical decision making and application of the service coordinator code of ethics is essential.
Employee must regularly use hands, handle, feel, talk or hear; stand, walk, sit; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; lift or move up to 25 pounds; adjust focus and distinguish colors and distances.
Read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
