Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a dedicated recreation program coordinator to lead activities for medically fragile residents. You will organize outings, music therapy, and seasonal events while coordinating volunteers and staff for summer camp.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preferred Bachelor’s in Recreational Therapy or 5 years’ related experience. Flexible hours and weekend availability are essential, as is driving with a valid license.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelors in Recreational Therapy preferred or 5 years’ experience in recreational programs for medically fragile individuals.
  • Must have valid driver’s license with 3 years of driving experience.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including at least one weekend day every bi-weekly pay period.
  • Computer experience required, especially MS Office; Point Click Care experience is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in scheduled recreational and leisure activities with all residents.
  • Create activity schedules/calendar for the program.
  • Provide community outings, at least 10 annually per child.
  • Organize music therapy sessions, holidays, birthday parties, swimming activities and coordinate volunteers.
  • Complete quarterly 90 Day Notes and Annual Assessments for all children.
  • Orient and supervise summer camp staff (8 weeks) and plan activities.
