Job summary

GL Virginia Shenandoah LLC seeks a compassionate nursing assistant to provide direct resident care in a supervised setting. You will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, while documenting care and communicating changes to the nurse in charge.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, supporting recreation activities, and following daily care plans to promote residents' well-being and safety. Adherence to infection control and patient rights is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions to perform essential functions.
• Prepare, administer and document medications in accordance with accepted practices and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and company information.
• Relate positively and professionally to residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer and document medications following accepted practices, and in accordance with regulations.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, and positioning.
• Assist with resident recreation programs and meals, and record food intake as needed.
• Read and follow daily care plans and provide nursing functions as directed by supervisor.
• Attend and participate in educational activities, in-service training and staff meetings.
• Assist in orientation and training other staff and participate in Quality Improvement activities.

Description

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

Prepare, administer and document medications following accepted practices, and in

toileting, changing of bed linens, and positioning in and out of bed, chair, etc.
Assist with resident recreation programs.
Prepare residents for meals and snacks.
Assist residents in eating where needed and record food intake.
Read and follow daily care plans
Perform assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures.
Report changes in resident condition to Nurse in Charge.
Document care provision on resident record as required.
Report accidents and incidents.
Provide nursing functions as directed by supervisor.
Assist in admission, transfer and discharge of residents.

Comply with all Company policies related to safety and infection control procedures
including the use of mechanical lifts, gait belts and personal protective back supports.
Understand, comply with and promote all rules and regulations regarding residents’
rights; promote positive relationships with residents, visitors and regulators, to include a
professional appearance.
Attend and participate in educational activities, in-service training and staff meetings.
