Job summary

Medicalodges is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare meals for residents according to procedures, ensuring correct portions and quality of the finished product. This role supports dining services across our Columbus, KS facility.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, snacks and drinks, setting up serving areas, recording temperatures, stocking items, cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and dining spaces after meals, and following the daily schedule.

Qualifications

• Understand and be able to follow basic cooking directions.
• Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Self motivated.

Responsibilities

• Preparing meals, snacks, and drinks for residents following menus and guidelines provided.
• Prepare serving area, salad bar, and dining rooms prior to meals.
• Record temperatures of food and equipment as required.
• Chart intakes in the main dining room.
• Clean work area and equipment; clean and sanitize dining area and kitchen after each meal; and assigned daily cleaning.
• Do prep assignments and re-stock items to prepare for the next meal.
• Following posted schedule for cleaning major equipment, work areas, and storage areas.
• Preparing trays for serving meals and snacks.
