Job summary

KION Group AG's Tracy, CA location is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 1 to perform day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on material handling equipment. The role runs on a 6 am–2:30 pm schedule with Mondays and Tuesdays off, with potential overtime and weekend work.

Job description

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 1 is responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance. This worker acts as an entry-level material handling technician on all equipment that is installed at the Tracy, CA Safeway location. The shift schedule is 6 am-2:30 pm with Mondays and Tuesdays off. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $23.50 to $27.00 an hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, Tasks and Qualifications: What you will do in this role:

What you will do in this role:

• Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, component lubrication, etc.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
• Create and close work orders into asset management system with appropriate data, to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
• Troubleshoot basic conveyance problems and understand the resources to resolve them.
• Locate and track spare parts from inventory.
• Respond to basic service calls and correct equipment failures and faults.
• Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

What We Are Looking For

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Typically, vocational technical training preferred.
• Demonstrate a basic mechanical knowledge of a technical or specialty area.
• Proven experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of position and key responsibilities as presented above.
• Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds each.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
• Have functional dexterity in both hands and wrists.
• Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10–12 hours
