What You Get To Do

As a Resident Maintenance Technician, you will be expected to provide industrial Electrical/Mechanical expertise and be part of a team that works to maximize equipment utilization and efficiency.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Rectify electro-mechanical faults and provide specialist technical assistance as a support technician.
  2. Respond to emergency calls on customer sites.
  3. Be safety conscious in all activities and promote successful completion of tasks.
  4. Provide first-class response to customers, aiming for first-time right repairs.
  5. Provide emergency breakdown and specialist maintenance support.
  6. Set up and calibrate precision automation equipment.
  7. Build strong effective relationships with customers and their operational teams.
  8. Achieve performance targets in response time, repair quality, and workmanship standards.
  9. Train customer maintenance teams as required.
  10. Assist in the installation of conveyor and automation equipment.
  11. Maintain quality of service through effective communication.
  12. Write clear, legible reports.
  13. Follow site quality, safety, and statutory procedures.
  14. Participate in regular meetings with supervisors or managers to discuss activities.
  15. Support the customer’s installed system with specialist maintenance services.
  16. Log spare parts usage accurately and promptly.
  17. Care for tooling and equipment properly.
  18. Be flexible and utilize your skills effectively.
  19. Ensure all documentation is accurate and submitted biweekly.
  20. Experience in mechanical disassembly/reassembly, wiring, calibration, and testing.
  21. Work efficiently against timeframes for reactive repairs.
  22. Keep on-site management informed of repair progress and concerns professionally.
  23. Take ownership of issues for quick resolution.
  24. Follow health & safety protocols and conduct risk assessments.
  25. Read assembly drawings and operate hand tools.
  26. Pay attention to detail and follow-up diligently.
  27. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  28. Use basic Microsoft Office skills.
  29. Be willing to learn and adapt.
  30. Respect cultural diversity.
What You Have
  1. Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. 3-8 years of relevant maintenance or repair experience.
  3. Experience repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  4. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or German) preferred but not required.
  5. Experience with equipment modifications, design, and automation systems.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to analyze and interpret systems.
  8. Experience with PLC-based machinery, robotics, and control systems.
  9. Network interfaces knowledge is a plus.
  10. Team-oriented with process improvement mindset.
  11. Cost reduction experience through efficiency improvements.
  12. Excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions
  • Basic technical understanding required.
  • Weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Occasional travel.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and/or Canada.
  • Ability to obtain a passport.
  • Professional conduct at all times.
  • Physical demands may include lifting 50-100 pounds, standing, walking, reaching, and reading.
