Job summary

Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert, Arizona seeks a Resident Lighting Designer for the upcoming season. The role covers lighting all concerts (14+) and multiple mainstage productions annually.

The position is full-time with a salary and requires a strong background in lighting design and moving lights programming. You will create light plots, develop instrument schedules, and produce pre-visualizations while coordinating closely with scenic and costume teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced moving lights programming experience required.
• Deep experience with ETC consoles (Ion used).
• Experience with Vectorworks previsualization required.
• Ability to meet production schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read the script to note overall story, theme and physical needs.
• Develop a light plot and instrument schedules in Vectorworks; prepare cues in Lightwright.
• Attend all design and production meetings to discuss concept, style and period.
• Attend rehearsals and refine light cues; adjust cues during tech week.
• Provide pre-visualizations; build cues, presets and set levels; plan for tech rehearsals.
