Job summary

Healthcare Nursing of The Bronx is seeking a compassionate Recreation Director to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in the Bronx. You will design engaging activities and lead a calendar of monthly events to improve residents' quality of life.

Ideal candidates have prior experience in recreation roles within healthcare, strong organizational and leadership abilities, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with volunteers and staff.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a Recreation Assistant or Recreation Director role in healthcare or long-term care.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with computers and basic office software.
• Positive, outgoing and enthusiastic personality.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new residents and identify their recreational interests.
• Assist with development and implementation of monthly activity calendars.
• Coordinate and lead recreational programs tailored to residents' needs and preferences.
• Support religious services and special events within the facility.
• Assist with organizing monthly celebrations, holiday events, and themed activities.
• Collaborate with volunteers to facilitate resident programming.
